FLUTTERFLOW
Solid PODs are decentralized data stores that enable individuals to securely store, manage, and control access to their personal information. Users decide who can access their data and can revoke permissions at any time. The system promotes interoperability, allowing different applications to work with shared data using open standards and protocols. This gives users more agency over their information while enabling richer and more collaborative data experiences across platforms.

We decided to tackle the payment transactions challenge for our submission, and prioritised the benefits of data privacy within the Solid PODs ecosystem.
MY ROLE
As the lead and only UX designer on my team during the hackathon, I was responsible for designing the entire user experience from concept to execution. I ensured that the app’s interface was user-friendly, visually appealing, and aligned with the project’s goals. My contributions included creating wireframes, refining interactions, and working closely with developers to implement the design using FlutterFlow.
By managing all aspects of UX design, I played a pivotal role in delivering a seamless and effective solution, contributing to our team’s overall success.
PRIORITISING DATA PRIVACY
The app’s homescreen is designed with a minimalist approach, ensuring a clean and straightforward layout that highlights the core functions of the platform. By prioritizing clarity and ease of access, the interface fosters a more intuitive experience, allowing users to efficiently engage with the app's functionalities. This approach ensures that users can focus on what matters most—managing their data and leveraging the app’s unique capabilities.
Our team prioritized data privacy while addressing the problem statements by leveraging Solid PODs to ensure users had full control over their data. We designed solutions that emphasized consent management, transparency, and secure access.
DATA SHARING
The dashboard offers a clear overview of all data access permissions, displaying each data point with labels indicating who has access and for what purpose. Each permission is visually represented with intuitive icons and toggles, making it easy for users to review and modify settings. The interface is organized into cards or lists, allowing users to quickly see which organizations have access to specific data points. With just a click, users can adjust permissions or revoke access, providing a seamless way to maintain control and privacy over their information.
This enables users to share data only with trusted parties, such as financial institutions or e-commerce platforms, and easily revoke access at any time, maintaining control and privacy over their information.

GATHERING INSPIRATION
To gain a deeper understanding of the competitive landscape, we began by thoroughly canvassing the industry, focusing on prominent class booking apps such as Glofox, Momence, Mindbody, and ClassPass. Our primary objective was to analyze these competitors’ offerings to identify trends, strengths, and potential gaps in the market. By examining the features, user interfaces, and overall user experiences of these apps, we sought to gather inspiration and pinpoint areas where we could innovate. This comprehensive analysis enabled us to identify opportunities to differentiate our product, ensuring it would stand out in the crowded class booking app market. Ultimately, our goal was to leverage these insights to create a solution that not only meets but exceeds user expectations, offering a unique and superior experience.
We realised that the OClass Ignite app had the similar design and functions as Glofox. However, certain aspects of the user flow could be improved.

DATA IDENTIFICATION
This page features a clean layout with three distinct data categories—personal, non-personal, and ephemeral ID—visually differentiated through color coding. Each category is clearly labeled, helping users quickly identify the type of data being shared. Selecting a category reveals more details and presents a QR code for that data type. The interface is designed to ensure easy navigation, and the scan function allows users to verify others' QR codes and maintain secure, transparent interactions.
MERCHANT OFFERS
The Offers page has a clean, user-friendly layout where personalized offers are prominently displayed based on a user’s purchase history. Merchants' offers are neatly organized in cards, showing relevant discounts tailored to the user. This benefits users by providing relevant deals and discounts, enhancing their shopping experience and satisfaction. For merchants, it boosts customer engagement, increases the likelihood of repeat purchases, and optimizes marketing efforts by targeting the right audience. As users have full control over what data is shared, it builds trust and fosters a more transparent relationship between merchants and consumers.
Using stored transaction data within Solid PODs, our app allows merchants to tailor personalized offers to users based on their purchase history and preferences. This benefits users by providing relevant deals and discounts, enhancing their shopping experience and satisfaction.
WHAT I LEARNED
This was a high-impact project completed within a tight timeline, requiring a strong focus and adaptability. Designing on FlutterFlow enabled faster development, though it came with its own set of challenges. The most rewarding part was mastering a new tool.
I’m immensely grateful to the judges from Mastercard, OCBC, FairPrice Group, Lazada, and IMDA for their invaluable feedback during the initial presentations, which helped us refine the app’s user experience. It was an exciting experience to contribute to developing solutions that could revolutionize data privacy and personal empowerment. The seamless communication and collaboration with my partner allowed us to develop the app efficiently, and ultimately, our efforts led to winning 1st Prize!
